The Red Sand Dunes at the outskirt of Mui Ne are one of Vietnam’s charming geological oddities. The massive, saharan dunes are by far the larger dunes and are known by locals as Bau Trang or White Lake.
The dunes range from pure white to gold. The white sand dunes have long been a creative subject of artistic photographs and paintings.
A small stand of pine trees sit on the southern end of the dune lakes, offering a perfect spot for a picnic. There are quite a few small stands selling food and drinks to visitors within the area along with line of pine trees offering cool shade.
