The tomb of Gia Long, officially Thien Tho Tomb, is a royal tomb of Nguyen Dynasty. Situated at Thien Tho mount, 18 km south of Hue, the tomb of Gia Long is in fact a group of tombs including those of the King’s relatives.
The construction of the tomb began in 1814 and completed in 1820. Gia Long’s tomb is a wonderful picture of nature and architecture, located in a vast land covered with a wide canopy of aid pine trees, the mausoleum was built according to a monumental but simple design and set in picturesque hill country.
The journey to the tomb is a big part of its appeal.
