Nestled in a gently sloping hill amidst a bustling Dalat City, Linh Son Pagoda is much like another world where people just hear sounds of rustling pine leaves and of wooden bells.
Built from 1936 to 1940 through donations from Buddhists, the pagoda is an office of the Buddhism Managing Committee of Lam Dong Province.
Linh Son Pagoda is a lovely ochre-coloured building that fuses French and Chinese architecture.
The giant bell is said to be made of bronze mixed with gold, its great weight making it too heavy for thieves to carry off. The pagoda offers contrasting views of the busy city on one side and the temple’s own tea and coffee plantations on the other.
