Domaine de Marie (Cherry Church)

Built in 1942 and designed by Paul Veysseyre, Domaine de Marie Convent is the pink tile-roofed European structures of the hilltop.

The convent was once home to 300 nuns. Today the remaining nuns support themselves by making and selling handicrafts in their shop, as well as selling the fruit grown in their orchard. The Roman Catholic nuns also take care of underprivileged minority children.

Entrance is free and should you find a nun with a spare minute she’ll be happy to show you around and explain the work they do for orphans, the homeless and handicapped children.
