Khao Takiab beach is a great place to spend time in a very laid back atmosphere. Large expanses of open white sand and shallow waters are ideal for kids and beach games.
There are two good beaches either side of Khao Takiab hill and both are less busy than Hua Hin’s, offering peaceful places to enjoy good food from the nearby beach restaurants where you can relax under the sun.
There are a number of seafood restaurants ranging from small Thai style places to large expensive resorts. You can get a great views from the top of the temple at Khao Takiab hill, on a clear day you can see as all the way down Hua Hin beach and as far as Cha Am.
Taking a boat trip from Khao Takiab to Koh Singto (Lion Island) is also a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Khao Takiab offers beach relaxation, a picturesque local fishing village, beach jogging, beach cycling, swimming and a beautiful scenery of local temples. Locals sometimes play football, volleyball and takraw on the wide flat sands of Khao Takiap beach.
Hua Hin town centre of is just 6 km distance and can be reached by taxi tuk tuk or local transport, green songtaews (twin benched pickup with a roof) run frequently to Khao Takiab from town for 10 Baht.
