Established in 1834 during the reign of King Rama III, Khai Noen Wong is an ancient army camp located in Tambon Bang Kacha, Chanthaburi Province.
With an enormous wall mounted with large cannons and surrounded by a moat, the camp was regarded as one of the most powerful military camps of the time.
Within the precincts there are also an exhibition chamber displays the history and culture of the people of Chanthaburi, an area of the Fine Arts Department, Underwater Archaeology Unit, a storage place of artifacts and pottery taken from the Australian Tide Ship.
