Phanuphan Bridge

The bridge was built across Ong and Canal at the end of Yaowarat Road around 1899, in the reign of King Rama V. Its name was given on by King Rama V, after the name of his younger brother Prince Phanuphanthuwongworadet, whose palace located near the bridge.

The bridge as seen today is reinforced today concreted rebuilt in the reign of King Rama VII, and modified in the reign of King Rama IX. The bridges walls are decorated with square design of Thai style with the inscription of the bridge’s name.
