Huay Yang waterfall was designated in 1991 as the 70th national park of Thailand, with total area of 161 km2. The park’s main attraction is a seven tier fall and bathing pools have been arranged on each level.
The pools are packed with small perch like fish. No accommodation is available though drinks and snacks are plentiful. Park admission is free. The national park actually stretches north and south of here encompassing the mountains laying along the Burmese border and including numerous other smaller falls.
The park is covered by evergreen and dry evergreen forest. Wildlife is abundant, for example gibbon, wild pig, squirrel, leopard, barking deer and porcupine and birds.
