Kaeng Krachan, the most extensive national park of Thailand, occupies a largely unexplored area of 2,915 square kilometers. Kaeng Krachan was declared a national park in 1981, it covers a reservoir and year round green jungle in the Tanaosri Ranges, which are the origins of many rivers, including Maenam Phetchaburi and Maenam Pranburi.
Because of abundant rainfall and unexploited forest cover in these watersheds, the streams, waterfalls and rivers of Keang Krachan flow year round.
In addition, visitors may spot leopards, tigers, elephants black-and-yellow broadbills, barking deer and tapirs.
