Animals in Khao Yai National Park

Wildlife Watching Khao Yai National Park is home for fertile forest and a feeding ground of many kinds of animals. Visitors entering the park will see large, prominently displayed signs like King Cobra Area Crossing, Tiger Crossing or Beware of Wild Elephants, which heighten expectations of seeing some of these elusive animals.

There are about 112 species of mammal such as elephant, guar, barking deer, sambar deer, serow, gibbon and pileated gibbon. Khao Yai is also home to carnivores such as tiger and Asian wild dog.

Khao Yai is indeed one of the few parks in Thailand where one is likely to see a wide range of animals in their natural habitat. Khao Yai National Park is also home to a wide range of reptiles, birds, butterflies and other insects.
