Karaweik Hall is located in the Kandawgyi Royal Lake in the Kandawgyi Nature Park.
The construction began in 1972 and finished in 1974. The barge is a two-storied construction of concrete and stucco, reinforced by iron rods, with a pyatthat-topped roof, and two reception halls and a conference room.
Nowadays, Karaweik Palace serves lunch and dinner with Myanmar, Chinese, Eastern and western cuisine at moderate prices in the ornate halls, accompanied by a variety of cultural show presents traditional Kachin, Shan, and other dances. As well as cater to gala occasions such as receptions, weddings, and social and business events.
