Gawdawpalin Temple in Bagan is a Buddhist temple begun in the 12th century during the reign of King Narapatisithu (1174-1211), and completed during the reign of Htilominlo (1121-1234). This temple is the second tallest temple in Bagan and is similar in layout to Thatbyinnyu Temple.
Gawdawpalin Temple is two storeys tall, and contains three lower terraces and four upper terraces. Like many of the Bagan temples, It was the building badly damaged by the earthquake of 1975, and renovated on its original style with the help of UNESCO.
This temple is said to be the most elegant temple in Bagan by all visitors near and far.
