Khon Phapheng Falls

The Khone Phapheng is a monstrous segmented waterfall on the Mekong River near the Cambodian border in the extreme southern part of Laos is said to be the widest falls in the world.

Stretching to as much as 14 km wide during the monsoon season, the waterfalls, more like a series of treacherous rapids, are up to 70-feet-high at their most impressive point.

The average discharge of the cataract is nearly 11,000 cubic meters per second.
