This popular 191-square-kilometer island is situated 20 kilometers north of Koh Samui or 100 kilometers from Suarat Thani.
The island, part of the Khao Luang range which raises above sea level has fertile forest, many waterfalls, powdery beaches and a peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding sea shelters many aquatic animals and coral reefs. Local communities still make their living on fishing and coconut farming.
Attractions on the island include: Ban Chalok Lam, Ao Si Thanu, Hat Rin, Thong Sala, Hat Thong Nai Pan, Wat Khao Noi, Namtok Than Prawet, Namtok Phaeng.
