The Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts is located in Hanoi, showcasing Vietnam's fine arts from every historical period. The building was built in 1937, and was an abandoned Catholic girl's boarding house. The site was selected by painter Nguyen Do Cung in 1963 and has recently become a prime tourist destination.

Fine Art Museum, Hanoi, Capital City of Vietnam
This museum has three floors and more than 2,000 objects on display, including artifacts from the Stone and Bronze Ages, an array of Buddhist images and early lacquer paintings.

Among some of the reproductions, there are many fine originals. Particularly noteworthy are a delightful collection of folk art, and a good range of modern art including some excellent water colors and innovative contemporary work.
