Bagan Archaeological Museum

Museums & Art GalleriesThe Bagan Archaeological Museum is situated on the south of Gawdaw Palin Pagoda, in the Old Bagan region. Opened for public in 1904, the museum had collected sufficient amount of ancient artifacts from and near Bagan.

The building is fully furnished with handicrafts, which spread over two floors, and adorned with Myanmar decorative arts – stucco, wood carving of floral design, Shwezawa lacquer work and tapestry. One of the highlights of a visit here are the stunning panoramic views from the rooftop, where visitors can see many of Bagan’s pagodas.

The museum is one of the most important places everyone should visit while traveling in Bagan, opens daily from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
