Interview with Keith and Tina Paul
Interview with Keith and Tina Paul
  • Tell us a little bit about your website and yourself ?

We are Keith and Tina Paul. We retired early and traveled. We started a blog to help people achieve early retirement and travel. Before we retired, I was the Chief Technology Officer for the University of Southern California, and Tina was a naturopathic doctor.

We have two grown children and two little dogs. Tina and I were born with wanderlust. Early on we had no idea that early retirement was a possibility but soon realized it is doable. Had we known in our 20’s or even 30’s what we know now we would have retired even earlier. We love helping other people retire early/work less. We also love sharing our passion for experiencing other cultures and learning about history through travel.

  • How many countries have you visited ?

We’ve been to 48 of the 50 states in the United States and to 18 countries. This year will be one of our busiest travel years. We will visit 14 new counties.

  • What are some of your favorite locations (or attractions) you have explored ?

We have loved every place we have been too. But since we know you want us to be specific, Italy and Germany are our favorites countries so far.

  • What was the best dishes that you ever tasted in your travels ?

You can’t beat some of the fresh pasta in Italy along with their table wines. They were just delicious. We had the most amazing scallops in Prince Edward Island. Literally, they were only hours old. We have to mention Ecuador, we live in Ecuador, for the freshest, mostly organic, year-round produce.

  • What is your favorite place on Earth for traveling and why?

This is easy. We want to see the world so any place we have never been is on our favorite places to travel.

  • Some of the most amazing beaches and islands that you visited ?

Hawaii had the best beaches of the places we’ve been. From pure white sand to black. Plus the cliffs are amazing on the Big Island. It’s just beautiful. Second place for islands, not beaches would have to go to Ireland, the Emerald Isle with their gorgeous Cliffs of Moher. Lastly, we have to mention the beaches from San Diego all the way to Monterey, CA, especially Big Sur. The overall beaches and community is what makes them so great.
