Yangon

Myanmar’s golden former capital city.

Yangon is a city that has barely changed for more than half a century and the former colonial origins still dominate the landscape. Yangon is most famous for its Shwedagon Pagoda, a huge golden structure that is visually impressive and attracts hundreds of pilgrims every day.

A multitude of other sights lie ahead for the traveller including busy markets, glittering pagodas and temples and scenic lakes making Yangon one of the most fascinating cities in Southeast Asia.
