Waghor Aquarium is part of The King Mongkut Memorial Park of Science and Technology which opened in May 3rd 1990 in memory of King Rama IV.
King Rama IV is known as the founder of Thai science and the park was originally the place of the King’s summer palace. The aquarium is an amazing opportunity to experience the marine life of Thailand. Watch colorful fish, small sharks, sea horses, stingrays more swim in front of and around you. You can really get up close and personal.
Two times a day, around 11 AM and 2 PM, a diver goes into the big tank or the fish tunnel to feed the fishes. The aquarium exhibition covers about 3,600 square metres. The Science Park aims to educate people on scientific marine nature and the environment. A Space Museum and a statue of King Rama IV are also located within the complex.
The aquarium and science museum are interactive, down to earth fun for kids of all ages. The planetarium, with its turning planets, comets that blaze across the sky and light up reproductions are sure to delight your children. The spiral plan of the science history building is a fun journey to take with while learning about some of the history of science and its heroes.
The main purpose of the museum is to create the learning center concerning Marine science, Nature science and Environment for children, students, youth and older visitors to gain knowledge, travel ecologically and learn the ecosystems of freshwater, brackish water and sea source.
Waghor Aquarium is design as the deep-sea atmosphere and welcome by the aquatic animal. Here you will be enjoy and enriching experience on aqua ecosystems.
